Real life love stories…Rhian Cahill

Do you believe in love at first sight or ‘The One’? I do. Let me tell you why.

I’m a butt girl. Always have been. Show me a guy with a tight butt in jeans, suit pants, board shorts, nothing….you name it, if it’s hot I’m drooling and going all squishy inside.

So it probably comes as no surprise that the first part of Mr.C I saw was his butt. Actually it was the only part. 🙂 He was leaving the pizza delivery store my best friend was managing and all I saw was the droolworthy butt disappear out the door. I turned to my BF and asked, who was that? To which she asked, why? That’s when I said he’s the guy I’m going to marry.

Yeah, you’re right, her mouth dropped open then she laughed her arse off for a full five minutes before she realised I wasn’t joking. Then she proceeded to tell me all the reasons why I was crazy. Including the fact he was still in high school.

Fast forward about six months and who should find his way back into my line of sight? Yep, the future Mr.C. It took a couple of weeks and one very disturbing game of Monopoly before I managed to secure his undivided attention, but once I did there was absolutely no doubt in my mind who he was. It was like this big sigh of relief inside me. Almost like my soul said, ‘Ah, there he is’, no big fireworks or slamming into brick walls, it was just there. So consuming and right.

From that first day, we were pretty much inseparable. Actually, he all but moved into the apartment I shared with a friend. And three months later, we were married. Yeah, I know shocking, especially when you consider I was 19 and he was 18. 🙂 Of course the rumors did the rounds – she’s pregnant! – and when no baby showed up within that first 9 months people started to scratch their heads. Who could blame them? I think I’d have a heart attack if one of our kids came home married at that age, then again, maybe not!

We’ve had our ups and downs. Love isn’t easy. It’s messy and hard and frustrating and I swear, he’s the only person I’ve ever want to strangle and kiss at the same time. Daily! Must be true love. 🙂 We love each other unconditionally, flaws and all. In fact his flaws are what makes him perfect for me and I suspect mine make me perfect for him.

So we might have rushed the whole marriage thing, but I think we’ve done okay so far. Four kids and over 25 years later he’s still ‘The One’. He’s my other half and as we get older I realise just how lucky we are that we not only found each other but get to spend so much of our lives together.

8882Rhian Cahill is the alter ego of a stay-at-home mother of four. With motherly duties rapidly dwindling, Rhian is able to make use of the fertile imagination that kept her sane during those years of slavery. Years living overseas and visiting tropical climates have helped inspire some steamy stories. Multi-published in erotic romance, Rhian, with the help of Mr. Muse, spends her days and nights writing. When not glued to the keyboard you’ll find her, book in hand, avoiding any and all housework as much as possible.

Rhian’s latest novella, Valentine’s Dates, pairs a woman who’s finished with the dating scene and a man who wants a lifetime of Valentine dates. Her new novella, Secret Santa, releases 1 December.
