Alison Stuart – The Goldminer’s Sister @alison_stuart14 @harlequinaus Pack your valise and get transported back in time to Maiden’s Creek in Alison’s new historical fiction that will enchant and mesmerise. The follow up to The Postmistress but can be read as a stand alone. 1873 and about to embark on her new life, Eliza Penrose arrives in the gold mining town looking for her brother. But what she finds is mystery and betrayal. Mining expert Alec McLeod is battling with his ideas and those of the owner of Maiden’s Creek Mine. Alec and Eliza are thrown together as secrets begin to show, dangerous situations arise, lives are threatened and a romance starts to blossom. The story comes alive right in front of your eyes, the harsh reality of life in the 1800’s, the class divides of the town people, the atmosphere of the gold mining town and our strong willed heroine who is gutsy and energetic. I adored Eliza and her no nonsense attitude, she’s strong and vibrant and the way she fought for what she believed in, in a male dominated business. The research shines through as the beautifully written plot is well thought out and perfectly paced. Another hit from Alison that will take you back to the past, captivate your heart and soul, fascinate and engage you and carry you away. The Goldminer’s Sister is out July 8th. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 stars Craig’s review #historicalfiction #harlequinaus #authorsofinstagram #writersofinstagram #booksofinstagram #femalewriters #womenwriters #australianwomenwriters #supportaussiewomenwriters #book #bookgeek #bookstagram #bookblog #bookblogger #bookreview #bookreviewer #bookhoarder #booknerd #bookworm #booklover #bookobsessed #bookaddict #bookaholic #popularfiction #wordofmouthbooks #read #reading #alisonstuart #thegoldminerssister

What Happens Now by Sophia Money-Coutts

I incorporated this rom-com into my reading weekend as it’s becoming a genre I enjoy more and more. They are also a delightful change from my favoured genre of mysteries/thrillers. What genre are you reading at the moment? ⁣ ⁣ This was such a fun and easy read and another really enjoyable one. Thanks so much to the lovely team @harlequinaus and @romanceanz for this review copy 💐📫⁣ ⁣ 📕📗📘⁣ Review ⁣ Lil Bailey thought she had found her forever partner but eight years later, he leaves her for someone else. While her life is ok with her tiny apartment and stable role as a teacher, she wants more. Lil finally gets back to dating and runs into handsome Max and things are looking up. But after a night together Max ghosts her and to make matters worse, she finds she is pregnant. ⁣ ⁣ While the blurb gives more away, I think its best going into this not knowing. What follows in the story is a fun tale about Lil, her relationship with Max, her revelation to him and what happens when they both get to know each other a little better. I laughed and it was silly and fun in places and just delightful. Definitely one I recommend as a light read with a dose of humour. ⁣ ⁣

What Happens Now? by Sophia Money-Coutts . and my delicious red velvet cake that I made a bit of a mess of cutting 😆 . Thank you @harlequinaus and @romanceanz for sending me a copy of this book in my #ReadThroughCovid19 box of books! . After an eight year relationship ends, Lil turns to online dating and ends up going on a date with Max. Lil thinks the date was a success…..until she messages Max and doesn’t hear back from him. However when Lil discovers she is pregnant things suddenly become a whole lot more complicated! . After reading some pretty heavy and depressing reads lately, this was the perfect book to pick up to lighten the mood. Despite not gravitating towards romance/romcom books generally, this was a fun book with plenty of laugh out loud moments. I really liked the character of Lil and found her relatable and entertaining. . I didn’t feel that there was much chemistry between Lil and Max though and the story was a little predictable, however I think fans of this genre will really enjoy this book as it’s fun and there is much to like about it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5 from me!

The Darkest King by Gena Showalter

❤️❤️❤️❤️ out of 5⁣ I have been a loyal fan of this series from the start and can honestly say this series is in my top 3 favourites. To say this book is highly awaited is the understatement of the century with a fan favourite character finally getting his HEA!⁣ ⁣ William is the adopted son of Hades and all around man whore bad ass! He is cursed to find love only to have his love kill him, so he figures he’ll never settle down. That is until he decides to break the curse and kidnaps our heroine- a code breaker and unicorn shifter 🦄. He doesn’t even know he’s met his match until he is already a goner.⁣ ⁣ Considering the hype for this character to finally getting his book I almost feel that the heroine took over too much…. I wanted more William! (Not that I didn’t like the heroine). Their banter and connection was signature GS with the craziness and the quirkiness! I was ecstatic to find out William’s backstory and I couldn’t put the book down!⁣ ⁣ #genashowalter #paranormalromancebooks #ireadromance #romancereader #pnr #lordsoftheunderworld #paranormalromancereaders

Sarah MacLean’s 19th century romance books

View this post on Instagram

Saying goodbye to this series wasn’t easy. But as we return one last time to the dark, criminal underworld of @sarahmaclean’s nineteenth-century London with what is nothing short of a subversive feminist masterpiece that gloriously demolishes sexist tropes and stereotypes, we are reminded once more what a rare gem in the Historical Romance genre this author truly is. A rapturous tale of redemption, forgiveness, and second chances, this is the book that we’ve been waiting for from the very start of the series—the story of the villainous third bastard son of the late Duke of Marwick, and the woman he’s spent half a lifetime searching for—and it was EVERYTHING I never even knew it could be. ♥️ // Read my full #review at natashaisabookjunkie.com or use link in bio…
