Pirates have always had an allure to them, with their rugged charm and swift sword fighting skills. Who hasn’t daydreamed of a life at sea, full of adventure?
There have been films and television series dedicated to bringing the pirate back into the mainstream, such as Pirates of the Caribbea, Black Sails, and the new comedy by Taika Waititi, Our Flag Means Death.
Pirates of the Caribbean has graced us with pop culture icons such as Johnny Depp as the infamous Captain Jack Sparrow, his noble partner in crime, Orlando Bloom as Will Turner, and the fierce Kiera Knightly as Elizabeth Swan. It’s enough to get out the knee-high boots and billowing white shirts!
It’s been a while since we’ve had a healthy dose of pirate in our systems, luckily, I have five swashbuckling romances to get you your fix.
