#SydneyWives – Wild Willow

(reblogged from AusRomToday, who have reviews and coverage of all the housewives!)

Tell us a little more about your housewife, Willow:
Willow Adams is twenty-six and comes from old money. Her mother is a beautiful socialite and one of the founding members of the Double D Club. Her father is an A-list Hollywood movie star, and growing up Willow spent half her childhood in LA until her parents’ messy divorce. Willow designs jewellery and her pieces are sought after by the rich and famous. She’s also into eastern philosophies and tries to keep her life perfectly balanced to help with the stressful relationship she has with her mother. But when Seb appears her nicely ordered life is turned upside down!

What inspired Willow’s story:
We were each given a brief description of our housewife. Mine was – old money and into New Age. Within an hour of receiving the email from Tracey and Kate I came up with the idea that my heroine had been secretly in love with her best friend for years. The trouble was something huge happened in the past that Willow just can’t get over, so she thinks there can never be anything but friendship between her and the sinfully delicious Seb. Oh how wrong she is!

What was your biggest challenge in writing Willow’s story?
My biggest challenge was actually keeping to the word count! I tend to write long, so compressing their story to under 12k was a real challenge for me. But I love to stretch myself in my writing and I hope readers think I did Willow and Seb’s story justice 🙂

Why will we love Willow?
To the outside world Willow has it all. But beneath her perfectly groomed exterior she is a mass of insecurity. She always feels people will compare her unfavourably with her mother, who has the wonderful talent of making Willow feel inadequate. She also fell in love with the one guy she could never have when she was seventeen and she’s never quite got over it 🙂

The Housewives of Sydney series promises that we’ll “find out what goes on behind the doors of the most exclusive addresses in the country”. What was the appeal of joining this series? Similarly, what has been the biggest challenge?
As soon as I read the invitation to join this project, I knew I wanted to be a part of it! The concept was so fresh and exciting and I was also thrilled to be working with so many fabulous Australian authors. The biggest challenge for me was this was a contemporary erotic romance set in Australia. Up until then, my published works were paranormal romance and historical romance. I’d also never set a book in Australia before! But as soon as I started to get to know Willow and Seb, their story just flowed from me. I had so much fun writing this novella and as it turned out I didn’t have any problem writing an erotic contemporary set in Sydney 🙂

SLAH_Willow_Final (1)From the hottest writers in Australia comes a scintillating new series. Enter the world of Sydney’s elite, and find out what goes on behind the doors of the most exclusive addresses in the country…

Meet the Housewives of Sydney. They are wealthy, elegant, poised, and constantly in the public eye. But what goes on behind closed doors, in the private homes and parties where the cameras and paparazzi aren’t welcome? Delve into the most personal details of their relationships, their friendships and their lives. The only question is: can you handle the heat?

Willow has loved Seb for as long as she can remember, but he has a past that she can’t handle, so she’s never done anything about it. But to not have him in her life is unthinkable, so  she holds on to him the only way she can – through friendship. Now his writing career is taking off, and Willow finds herself increasingly jealous of his groupies and increasingly unable to keep her feelings to herself.

An unexpected visit leads to an unanticipated kiss – and Seb and Willow end up in her bed. It’s the best thing that’s ever happened to Willow, but can she trust that Seb wants more than a bit of afternoon delight – and can she trust herself to let go of the past in order to gain a future?
