Real life love stories…Eden Summers

From Eden Summers

The first time I saw him was at my brother’s twenty-first birthday. I was fifteen, he was nineteen, which was pretty scary for a shy, never-been-kissed teenager. But it was love at first sight, for me anyway. He sated my love of dark features with his chocolate eyes, nicely tanned skin, and dark brown hair. Unfortunately, he had a girlfriend and I barely registered on his radar.

Fast forward three and a half years and I’d finished my HSC and moved five hours away to Melbourne with two of my friends. I had a great job in the city. Life was fantastic and Mr. Sexy Brown Eyes wasn’t even a passing memory…until one night me and my work colleagues were out celebrating our sales achievements. We were dressed up in various outfits – me in my princess dress with a pink boa and a gorgeous plastic tiara. Classy.

It was past midnight and I’d lost the ability to walk in a straight line many drinks ago. I was about to catch a taxi home with one of my workmates when he convinced me to have one last drink at a bar I’d never been to.

That’s when fate stepped in. I sidled up to the bar and rested against the stool right beside Mr. Sexy Eyes. He was on an end of year football trip with his friends, walking just as straight as I was, but he had the brain capacity to pull a stunning pick up line, “I told the guys you’d be hot when you got older.”

*swoon*

Well, OK, maybe it wasn’t that romantic, but as soon as my gaze caught his, I’d been lost to the rampant thump of my heart.

We kissed, and oh boy, it was like I’d never been kissed before. And half an hour later I left the bar. Alone. I was smitten; doesn’t mean I was easy. We had made plans to meet the next night and I was certain he wouldn’t remember. Turns out he did.

It was a whirl-wind romance. He started driving five hours every weekend to see me. We wrote love letters. He sent me flowers every week and we would talk on the phone all night. Months later he transferred to Melbourne. It wasn’t long until we moved in together and after a few months we moved back to our home town and lived happily ever after.

He is my best friend. He is my soul mate. And most of all, he is a gift I will never stop being thankful for.

In late 2010, Eden’s romance obsession could no longer be sated by reading alone, so she decided to give voice to the sexy men and sassy women in her mind. Eden can’t resist alpha dominance, dark features and sarcasm in her fictional heroes and loves a strong heroine who knows when to bite her tongue but also serves retribution with a feminine smile on her face.

Ravenous is the story of a small town caterer and a big city chef who don’t need a kitchen to make things sizzle…
